Homestand Highlights June 25-July 1, 2018

cropped-home-sweet-home.jpgThe Cardinals return home to Busch Stadium after a disappointing 3-4 road trip. Fans, bloggers and sportswriters alike are calling for John Mabry, the Cardinals’ hitting coach, to be fired.  The last two games in Milwaukee were promising. The Cardinals won both of those games.  The first three games of this homestand, however, are against the Cleveland Indians, who are the hottest team in baseball right now.  Here’s hoping that the last two wins and coming back to the home field will put this team to rights.  Here’s all the details on this upcoming homestand:

Homestand Highlights from June 11 to June 17, 2018

Red RIPThis has been a sad week due to the death of Red Schoendiest.  Red will always be remembered as Mr. Cardinal.  Stan Musial was the heart of the Cardinals, but Red was the soul.  Not only was he a great player and a great manager, but he was a wonderful person as well.  We will always remember Red fondly. There will never be another person like Red. There are some wonderful articles about Red in today’s St. Louis Post-Dispatch – if you are not a St. Louis local, you can find the articles on www.stltoday.com.

Don’t you wish that the Cards could play the Reds every game? (Well, except for today’s game, which broke a long winning streak.)  The Cardinals come back home tomorrow night for a series against the San Diego Padres and then the Cubs come back to town for a weekend series.  Saturday night’s game is on the regular FOX channel and Sunday’s night game is once again on ESPN.  Hopefully, the ESPN team will be nicer to us this time.   Here’s all the details about the next homestand:
