Homestand Highlights for May 1-May 8, 2018

The Cardinals return home to Busch Stadium  tomorrow night after a brief three game road trip to Pittsburgh this weekend.  After being swept in Pittsburgh, I’m sure the guys are happy to be coming home to familiar territory.   Both Chicago teams will be visiting Baseball Heaven during this homestand.  The 2018 inductees to the Cardinals Hall of Fame will be announced on Fox Sports Midwest before Friday night’s game. Note that Sunday night’s game will be broadcast on ESPN rather than Fox Sports Midwest. Monday’s night game is also on ESPN, but only for out-of-market fans.  Here’s all the details on this homestand:

Hall of Fame Induction Announcement & Pooches in the Ballpark Highlight Third Homestand of 2018

ST. LOUIS, Mo., April 30, 2018 – The Cardinals return to Busch Stadium after a short, three-game road trip to Pittsburgh.  The seven-game homestand kicks off with two games against the Chicago White Sox (May 1-2), followed by a three-game weekend series against the Chicago Cubs (May 4-6) and concludes with two more games versus the Minnesota Twins (May 7-8).  The third homestand of the season is highlighted by the 14th annual Purina Pooches in the Ballpark game and Kurt Warner Theme Night.

Tuesday, May 1, 2018 — Cardinals vs. Chicago White Sox (7:15 p.m.)

Gates open at 5:45 p.m.

College Theme Night #2Take a break from the books and celebrate the end of the school year on College Night at Busch Stadium.  For just $20, fans will receive a ticket to the game and an exclusive throwback Cardinals tee, designed by STL Style.  To purchase tickets, visit cardinals.com/college. #CardsTheme

Boots at Busch: 93.7 The Bull and the Cardinals welcome back Boots at Busch—a series of home games featuring live country music in a “battle of the bands” format.  Tonight’s battle features Charlie Barrale, the Cary Miller Band and Blacktop South.  Gate 6 will open at 5:15 p.m. for the event.  Performances begin at 5:35 p.m. in Budweiser Terrace.  Tickets are available for $5 to each Battle at Busch game at cardinals.com/bootsatbusch.

Cardinals Care Stadium Auction: Auction tables will be located by Gate 1, Gate 3, and inside the Cardinals Club, UMB Champions Club and Redbird Club for fans and collectors to obtain specialty Cardinals items while helping support the programs that Cardinals Care provides to youth in the community. #CardsCare

Wednesday, May 2, 2018 — Cardinals vs. Chicago White Sox (12:15 p.m.)

Gates open at 10:45 a.m.

Great Clips Charity Haircuts: During the game, fans can root for the Redbirds and shape up their roots with a visit to Ford Plaza.  For a $10 donation, Great Clips will cut your hair and donate all proceeds to Cardinals Care.

Friday, May 4, 2018 — Cardinals vs. Chicago Cubs (7:15 p.m.)

Gates open at 5:15 p.m.

Cardinals 2018 Hall of Fame Induction Announcement: The fifth elected Cardinals Hall of Fame induction class will be revealed on FOX Sports Midwest tonight during a 30-minute pregame television special at 6:00 p.m. CT.  A pregame ceremony will also take place to commemorate the announcement.  The 2018 Cardinals Hall of Fame enshrinement ceremony will take place on Saturday, August 18. #CardsHOF

Autograph Night: Get free autographs from current and former Cardinals players, courtesy of Academy Sports + Outdoors.  A current Cardinals player will sign 100 autographs inside Ford Plaza for fans ages 15 and younger from 5:45-6:15.  Kids must have an autograph line ticket, which are free and are distributed in the Ford Plaza.  Former Cardinals Tom Lawless and Kyle McClellan will sign autographs for fans of all ages from 6:15-7:00.

Alumni Celebrity Bartender: Former Cardinals All-Star first baseman, Greg Jefferies, will be bartending in Budweiser Terrace from innings two through four during tonight’s game.

Cardinals en Español: Tonight’s game will be broadcast over the radio in Spanish by Polo Ascencio and Bengie Molina.  The Spanish broadcast will air locally on WIJR 880 AM and be streamed via cardinals.com & the MLB.com At Bat mobile app. #STLCardenales

Artifact Spotlight: Before every Friday home game, the Cardinals Museum highlights artifacts in the collection not currently on display during a pregame presentation inside the Museum at 3:00 & 3:30.  Today’s featured item relates to the St. Louis Federals. Purina Pooches in the Ballpark: Fans who purchased a special ticket are allowed to bring their dog to the game in a pet-friendly section of the stadium.  Participants will take part in a pregame costume parade around the warning track and receive a Purina goodie-bag.  All fans can enjoy the Purina Pro Plan Performance Team Show, which will take place in the outfield, from their seats at approximately 12:125 p.m.  #PurinaPooches
