Back on track and back in town

Cards trainWhat a difference a week makes.  As you may recall, in last week’s post, I mentioned that the Cards looked tired and that they really needed the All-Star break.  Matt Holliday did return to the lineup on Friday.  It took a few days, but the Cards are playing like the hot team from the first part of the season. Holliday’s grand slam HR on Tuesday was very exciting.  And Yadi hit an amazing triple last night and cleared the bases. I haven’t seen him run that fast in a long time. Hopefully, the team is back on track and there will be no more slumps (or injuries) this season.  The Cardinals are the first team to get to 60 wins this season.  I still think the Cards need to pick up an everyday first baseman.  Adam Lind of the Brewers would be a great pickup.  Hey, Mo, go get this deal done, OK?

The Cards start an 11 game homestand tonight, and I’m sure the guys are glad to be home.  My son and I will be at Monday’s night’s game – we purchased tickets during the $4 July 4th sale  We will be in sec. 367, row 14, so come by and say hi if you’ll be at the game. Here’s the homestand highlights:
